Objects Beautiful Festive Pop-Up
Various Artists
12 December 2024 - 16 December 2024
Objects Beautiful is a year-old gallery that started its public activity in London with a pop-up at Soho Square last December 2023, followed by a participation at London's largest crafts fair - Collect, in Somerset House - in February 2024. The gallery focuses on two pursuits, firstly, bridging art and craft, fine art and applied art, as this division is artificial, a cultural myth, and secondly, campaigning for beauty, a word that became a taboo since the 1950s, and by these days is almost emptied of its content.
Yael Reisner, the founder, director and curator of Objects Beautiful, is an architect, architectural curator, and writer, has campaigned for beauty on an international scale since 2010.
Neuroscientific studies have shown that beauty enhances both happiness and health, yet, creating it requires true artistic talent. Behind every beautiful art object stands a great artist. Artists introduce new forms of Beauty - profound, original, elegant, and often mysterious. As Reisner highlights, beauty is not a singular idea, its plurality prevails.
Favourites objects were selected for this Festive Pop-Up, which will include mostly art-jewellery, prints and video by the painter Adam Rabinowitz, along Ceramics by Carlos Jimenez Cenamor, and Elly Glossop.
