Peacock and Ivory

Sam Peacock & Hannah Ivory Baker

20 March - 24 March 2025

Sam and Hannah will be showing a new range of work both large and small at 'Peacock and Ivory'. Hannah challenges the notion of tradition in her seminally abstracted oil paintings whilst Sam works on creating abstracted landscapes by the application of heat onto steel. Both artists have exhibited countless times and are both just back from Fresh Art Fair where they both sold extremely well.

Inspired by rural and costal landscapes, Sam Peacock has challenged the traditional notion of landscape painting in every aspect of his work. Peacocks, unique interpretation of landscape painting involves the use of non-traditional oil base paints, varnishes, coffee grains and a variety of raw materials, all composed on a sheet of steel. Colour, being a major aspect of the work is inspired by the colours of the land itself with each pallet being created from one specific location.

A self-taught artist based in North London, Hannah Ivory Baker paints flora, seascapes and landscapes. She works predominantly in oil paint and explores the dynamic interplay between texture, light, and form. She is deeply inspired by the natural world, particularly the rugged Cornish coastline and the serene Somerset Levels. These landscapes provide a wealth of artistic opportunities, each possessing the essential elements necessary for creative interpretation and expression.

The exhibition will be open 10 am - 6 pm on Friday - Monday and will be open late until 8 pm on opening day, Thursday 20 March.
