Surf's Up

Born in Sheffield, Philip Michael Martin’s artistic process has been forged from an impressive CV of creatively driven jobs. From Copywriter, Art Director, and Creative Director, now full-time artist based in London, Philip presents his solo show, 'Surf's Up', at J/M Gallery.

In this latest exhibition, Philip introduces us to a collection dedicated entirely to his ever popular surf paintings - multiple images in lush colours of crashing waves, perfect sunsets, giant tubes and dynamic surfers. As always, Philip builds the pieces with many different layers of paint, glue, oil and resin to create texture so that the paintings always have a delicious physicality when seen in the flesh.
